How long are sessions and files kept?
Understand 24-hour inactivity on Free, saved Pro sessions and how audio cleanup works.
In this guide
Free means 24 hours of inactivity #
A Free Studio session expires after 24 hours without activity, rather than 24 hours after creation. Working in the session renews its inactivity deadline. Background status polling alone is not the same as active use.
An active processing job is protected rather than having its files deleted mid-job. Once an inactive session expires, background cleanup removes the session and associated audio from active cloud storage. Timing can vary; do not treat an expired project as recoverable storage.
Pro sessions do not have the 24-hour timer #
While your account is Pro, sessions and their audio stay in your account until you choose to delete them. If your account returns to Free, sessions adopt the Free inactivity policy.
Pro is useful for returning to a song, but still keep local backups of important originals and exports. Storage needed to provide the service is not a transfer of ownership.
A download pack does not extend storage #
Paying $5 for three master downloads unlocks that project's master WAV downloads. Your account remains Free, with the same 16-stem allowance and 24-hour inactivity rule.
Download the files you want to keep before you leave the project inactive. Packs are tied to one project and are not a permanent archive or a subscription.
Reference audio and older versions #
Reference audio is temporary: after analysis finishes, its audio is deleted and only profile measurements remain. Failed or interrupted reference work is cleaned up as well.
When you remix a stem, stale processed WAV and MP3 versions are removed rather than collected as a history of exports. Changing the mix can invalidate and remove an old rendered master; download a version before changing it if you want to keep it.
Account, billing, non-audio usage history and limited backup records follow the Privacy Policy. For full ownership and deletion details, read Your music, your rights.
