Troubleshooting

An upload or audio file could not be prepared

Check formats, size, duration, connection and error states before uploading a replacement.

In this guide
  1. Check the file itself
  2. Check the session and connection
  3. Retry the right operation
  4. If it still fails

Check the file itself #

  1. Open the original file locally to confirm it plays.
  2. Check that it is WAV, AIFF/AIF, FLAC, MP3, M4A or OGG.
  3. Confirm it is no longer than 10 minutes and no larger than 256 MB.
  4. Export a fresh WAV or FLAC from the original DAW session if the file is damaged or encoded unusually.
  5. Keep all stems aligned to the same start when replacing a part.

Renaming .something to .wav does not convert the data. A file can have an accepted extension and still contain invalid audio.

Check the session and connection #

Make sure the session has room: 16 tracks on Free or 38 on Pro, with a combined 4 GB upload limit. If you see the track-limit prompt, select fewer files or upgrade rather than repeatedly dropping the same batch.

Keep the browser open and the device awake until uploads finish. Mobile browsers can suspend background tabs or lose access to a local file if the page reloads.

Retry the right operation #

A row that says Needs attention or shows an error is not ready just because another track completed.

If the original upload is present and the UI offers Retry Preparation, use it. If mixing failed after preparation, use Retry Mix or Remix Changed. If the file never uploaded correctly, remove the failed entry and upload the valid file again.

Do not refresh during an active upload as your first troubleshooting step; that can interrupt the transfer.

If it still fails #

Copy the exact error, note the file format/size/duration and device/browser, and email support with the session link. Do not include a private song file unless support asks for it and you want to provide it.

A remote-storage error during mastering is different from an original file conversion error. Your saved source/settings may still be available for a retry after the storage issue is resolved.
